Noah Wyle to star in CBS' racial drama pilot Red Line from Ava DuVernay and Greg Berlanti

The potential series revolving around a white Chicago cop who mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor would mark Wyle's first TV series regular role since ER. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Wyle will star as Daniel Calder, a dedicated high school teacher who is mourning the loss of his innocent African-American husband, who was shot and killed by a white police officer. Daniel is now a single parent to his adopted daughter, Jira." Wyle also has a recurring role on TNT's The Librarians.
