The "We Stand Against The Stand" statement signed by 70 deaf industry workers is calling out the CBS All Access limited series after learning that hearing actor Henry Zaga was picked to play deaf-mute character Nick Andros. Last week, Zaga told The Wrap that he spent time learning American Sign Language in preparation for the role. "All we can do is play the character as respectfully and as honorably as possible by doing all the homework we can, by putting our hearts into it, and truly trying to understand how that situation would really play out,” he said.
