Jimmy Kimmel slams KROQ for dumping the radio show that launched him and Adam Carolla

“Shame on you KROQ ‘management’ for caring so little about the people who gave you so much,” Kimmel tweeted this morning. “Especially now.” In the mid-90s, Kimmel was "Jimmy the Sports Guy" on KROQ's Kevin & Bean morning radio show in Los Angeles. When the show set up a boxing match between Kimmel and the station's janitor, Michael the Maintenance Man, listener Adam Carolla was enlisted to train Kimmel, paving the way for Carolla to join the show and for him and Kimmel to partner on The Man Show. Last November, co-host Gene “Bean” Baxter of Kevin & Bean departed the show after 29 years, and fellow co-host Kevin Ryder carried on as host of "Kevin in the Morning With Allie & Jensen." Ryder tweeted this morning he and his crew were fired and escorted from the building by three security guards.
