Corden said at PaleyFest LA that he sent a heartfelt email to the Beatles icon, pleading the case for the singer-songwriter’s participation after McCartney kept backing out, according to The Huffington Post. The show had already scouted locations, he told McCartney, and cancelation would cause a big financial hit. McCartney finally agreed to get back on board when he was told to enjoy himself.
