Deadline reports Corden "has been in talks for some time but that negotiations have stepped up recently. Corden’s current contract runs through August 2022 and the network is thought to be keen to keep him." As Deadline notes, Corden has thrived on YouTube, where his show has had 9 billion views since its premiere in 2015 and 27 million subscribers, the second-most among the late-night shows.
