J. Michael Mendel, four-time Emmy-winning producer on The Simpsons and Rick and Morty, dies at 54

Mendel was aboard The Simpsons from its launch in 1989, coming from The Tracey UIllman Show. Between 1989 and 1999, he was credited as a producer on 207 episodes, winning three Emmys. He earned a fourth Emmy in 2018 as a line producer on Rick and Morty. "My friend, partner, and line producer Mike Mendel passed away. I am devastated," tweeted Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. "My heart breaks for his family. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you by my side Mike. I’m destroyed."
