Is Al Pacino hurting his status as one of our greatest actors with his many HBO TV biopics?

On HBO, Pacino has played Roy Cohn, Jack Kevorkian, Phil Spector and Joe Paterno. He's become "HBO’s 21st century muse for films about intriguingly dastardly men and what made them tick," says Joe Reid, adding that "there’s also a sense that we’ve lost Pacino, one of the greatest actors of his era, to the mists of ripped-from-the-headlines TV biopics...It just feels more and more like we’ve lost Pacino to a kind of semi-retirement, and these HBO movies are his afternoon round of golf."
