Henry Cavill: Volcanic dust combined with my The Witcher contact lenses to damage my eye

Cavill says while filming the Netflix series in the Canary Islands, volcanic dust got behind his contact lens and rubbed against his eye. "It turned out that whatever the dust was, volcanic, it ended up scratching my eye, because it got behind the contacts and was just rubbing there for however long," he tells Vanity Fair. "It took about, I want to say three weeks to heal, and then the contacts were back in."
