HBO and LeBron James to turn Serial Season 3 into a limited series

The hit podcast's 2018 third season exploring the criminal justice system in Cleveland is getting the TV treatment with host Sarah Koenig executive producing alongside the NBA superstar. "The untitled drama will follow a young cop and the man he's accused of beating as the potential series illuminates the flawed inner-workings of a middle-American courthouse and how the system impacts everyone it touches, from cops, lawyers and citizens accused of and victimized by crimes," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Last Tree writer-director Shola Amoo is on board to write the potential series. Serial previously inspired the 2019 HBO docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed.
