Game of Thrones' series finale is the primary reason NBC abandoned plans to stage Hair Live! on Sunday

One year ago next week, NBC announced Hair Live! would be its next live TV musical, only to cancel the TV musical nine months later. “As soon as we heard of the announcement of the Game of Thrones series finale, it gave us tremendous pause,” said NBC Entertainment co-chairman George Cheeks. “It’s always challenging when you have big events like that to move the date. So that was the first thing that made us think, maybe this is not the right move.”
