Fox revives Name That Tune with Jane Krakowski and Randy Jackson

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt alum Krakowski will host and former American idol judge will serve as bandleader on an update up the classic game show format, which debuted as a radio show in 1952 and has had several TV iterations. Name That Tune marked Kathie Lee Gifford's first TV job. The show last aired in 1985, but CBS has tried to revive it as recently as 2017. Premiering Jan. 6, each hourlong Name That Tune episode will be comprised of two standalone half-hour contests, each pitting two players against each other “as they race against the clock to test their knowledge of songs, performed by the live band" with winners potentially winning a $100,000 grand prize. “We’re thrilled to bring the iconic musical game show Name That Tune back to television with this updated revival,” said Fox unscripted boss Rob Wade. “It’s been beloved the world over for decades and we can’t wait for a new generation of families to get to play along with the classic series at home. With the captivating Jane Krakowski as host alongside band leader Randy Jackson the Big Dawg himself, this surely will be a harmonious pairing.”
