Fox: The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters

“Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters,” the network said in a statement Friday, less than an hour after Mike Henry quit his Cleveland Brown role on Family Guy. Earlier this year, Hank Azaria stepped down from his Simpsons role as Apu following years of backlash from Indian-Americans. Azaria also voiced the the Black Simpsons character Carlton Carlson. Simpsons cast member Harry Shearer also voiced a Black character, Dr. Julius M. Hibbert.
