Billy Crystal calls today's comedy a minefield, takes a dig at this year's Oscars

“Were they on?” the nine-time Academy Awards host responded when the New York Post asked him if he watched this year's ceremony. As for the current state of comedy, Crystal -- whose blackface at the 2012 Oscars would be unacceptable today -- says: "It’s becoming a minefield and I get it. I don’t like it, I understand it … I just keep doing what I’m doing and that’s all you can do right now. It’s a totally different world (now) and it doesn’t mean you have to like it." ALSO: Crystal's comments were met with backlash on Twitter.
