Billy Crystal calls Will Smith's Oscars slap "a crime," says Chris Rock's Jada Pinkett Smith joke "was wrong"

On Chris Wallace's CNN+ show, Crystal recounted watching the 94th Oscars slap. “Uh, oh. Uh-oh. And then, you know, fortunately, you know, it was a horrible thing. It’s, and it’s it’s a crime,” he said, according to The Wrap, adding that he was concerned about Smith's mental state but thought Rock handled himself well. As for the joke, Crystal said: “I just thought it, one, it wasn’t a great joke, and two, it was why, why go after her, you know, so I thought it just misplaced. And I love Chris and we’re friends and I so respect him. I just thought it was wrong.”
