Alex Gibney is working on a limited series based on The Washington Post's "The Afghanistan Papers"

The Oscar-winning documentarian is developing the newspaper's in-depth "The Afghanistan Papers" report on the war in Afghanistan as both scripted and unscripted series. The documents show that U.S. officials "failed to tell the truth about the war in Afghanistan throughout the 18-year campaign, making rosy pronouncements they knew to be false and hiding unmistakable evidence the war had become unwinnable." Gibney and his team will work with Post reporter Craig Whitlock, who uncovered the documents.
