Colbert returned to the Ed Sullivan theater building on Monday for the first time since March 12, but he opted not film in the theater itself. Instead, he filmed in a re-creation of his A Late Show office that's four stories below his actual office, joined by his wife Evie Colbert, who was off-camera. "This office is packed with crew around here, all staying away from each other," he said. "As much as it's nice to see my crew here in the building, I do want to thank my wife and kids again for everything they did to produce the show while I was at home. I just want to say over the last five months, y'all became like a family to me. I mean that." Colbert said his Late Show staff his office studio above the Ed Sullivan Theater was a dead ringer for his actual office, from his desk to his Captain America shield. "In fact, this, this feels like Captain America," he said. "You know when Cap wakes up in the fake hospital they built to make him feel more at home. Except on me they used some sort of opposite of the super-serum to take away my muscles. Because I distinctly remember having a couple of muscles before I went into quarantine."
