The Feuds That Make Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip Season 3 So Juicy

From Whitney and Heather's bad weather to Candiace and Gizelle's bad blood, the new season could be defined by longtime issues.

Feuds are always at the center of any good Real Housewives season. What the Peacock spinoff, subtitled Ultimate Girls Trip, has done is cross-pollinate the various Real Housewives versions and either played on conflicts that may have arisen on social media (Brandi Glanville and Tamra Judge's Twitter beef) or stoked brand new ones due to unavoidable personality conflicts (Kenya vs. Ramona in Season 1, to name but one example).

For the third season, which lets eight Housewives all-stars loose in Thailand, a few preexisting feuds are poised to set the season off on a tense note. Porsha, who up until recently was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is given the task of spilling the tea on three pairs of her soon-to-be co-stars: Heather and Whitney from Salt Lake City, Gizelle and Candiace from Potomac, and Alexia and Marysol from Miami. Not all feuds are created equal, though, and it helps to know which are burning hottest at the moment the season begins. Just in case you don't follow all of the various Housewives offshoots but still want to get solid footing for Ultimate Girls Trip round 3, here's a quick rundown of who hates whom and why.

Why Are Whitney and Heather Feuding?

Jen Shah's impending arrest was the cloud that loomed over the Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, but it was the fallout between besties and cousins Whitney and Heather that was most dramatic. The pair were as thick as thieves through the first two seasons, driving Lisa Barlow to the point of composing weird spoken-word incantations about them at the Season 1 reunion (the infamous "Whitney and Heather: Bad Weather"). Their dustup in Season 3 also centered around Lisa — on the women's trip to Scottsdale, Whitney brought up a rumor that Angie Harrington had whispered to them once about Lisa exchanging sex for courtside NBA tickets. When Whitney revealed this to Lisa, Heather denied ever hearing it. Whitney called Heather a liar. Heather shoved Whitney. They were both wearing incredibly revealing lingerie. It was a whole thing.

The pair had a reconciliation scene shortly thereafter, but not a particularly heartfelt one, and they both gave confessionals afterwards that pointed to lingering bad feelings. The conflict simmered on the back burner through the rest of the season, but the relationship turned south in October at BravoCon, when Whitney and Heather sniped back and forth at each other on multiple panels about their deteriorating friendship. The feud was still in full effect at the Season 3 reunion, which filmed in December. Both the reunion and BravoCon occurred after the filming of Ultimate Girls Trip, so even though the first episode begins with Heather and Whitney on speaking terms with each other, don't expect things to stay as sunny as their vacation spot.

Why Are Gizelle and Candiace Feuding?

Gizelle and Candiace were cool with each other heading into the Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, though that didn't last more than a couple episodes. Gizelle, for reasons best known to her and maybe that mime she encountered (and he's not talking), raised a vague yet pointed accusation about Candiace's husband, Chris, making her "uncomfortable" by engaging her in conversation in her dressing room without others present. Candiace immediately clocked this for what it likely was: Gizelle trying to create a storyline to put her and Chris on the defensive. Gizelle has always been a sh*t-stirrer, though often that's been with Karen, who gives as good as she gets and with whom Gizelle seems to share an understanding of mutually assured shade-throwing. Candiace is not that type, so it was no surprise when she responded with her entire arsenal.

At the reunion, Candiace was still furious, and Gizelle was still sticking to her guns about how Chris shouldn't have approached her. Gizelle made a half-hearted apology, which Candiace told her to "shove up [her] ass."

Still, as the Ultimate Girls Trip season begins, Candiace and Gizelle are in something of a cease-fire situation. They're at least cool enough to video chat before heading out for Thailand. "I don't want to tussle," Candiace declares in the premiere's first minutes. "Stay off my porch and we'll have a great time."

    Are Alexia and Marysol Feuding?

At least Alexia and Marysol aren't feuding as the Ultimate Girls Trip season begins. If you've watched the trailer for Season 3, you've seen that the Real Housewives of Miami besties will be engaging in a very uncharacteristic verbal spat. To set the stage for this, the premiere episode points to a moment from the most recent season when Alexia was accusing Adriana of dating a married man. During one particular confrontation, Marysol piped up a quasi-defense of Adriana, to which Alexia scoffed a sarcastic "Okay, Marysol!" That was it, and it never amounted to anything. So no, Alexia and Marysol don't have any beef heading into this season and are on good terms… for the moment.
