Michael C. Hall reprises his character as Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Resurrection. He has been playing the character for almost two decades now. Other actors reprising their roles are Jack Alcott who plays Dexter's son, Harrison Morgan; James Remar who appears as Dexter's father, Harry Morgan and David Zayas who portrays Detective Angel Batista.
Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has joined the series as Leon Prater, a billionaire with an unhealthy obsession with serial killers. The Old Guard 2 actress Uma Thurman portrays Charley, a former Special Ops officer who now works as Leon's Head of Security. How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris appears as a character named Lowell/The Tattoo Collector.
Kadia Saraf and Dominic Fumusa play Detective Claudette Wallace and Detective Melvin Oliva, respectively. These detectives work at the New York Police Department and work together to get hold of Dexter. Modern Family fame Eric Stonestreet will play a midwestern serial killer named AI/Rapaunzel.
Michael C. Hall began his career in the theater and in the early 2000s, he appeared as David Fisher in the HBO drama series Six Feet Under. For his performance as Dexter Morgan in the Dexter franchise, he has won a Golden Globe Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and six Primetime Emmy nominations.
In an interview with NME in July 2025, Hall got candid about what Dexter is looking for in Resurrection.
"[Dexter] craves a sense of redemption, a sense that he can’t undo the past and the collateral damage that his indulgence in human relationships has resulted in. But he does have a desire to, in his twisted way, make things right. And yes, the relationship with his son is part of that," Hall said.
He explained that Dexter wants to be by his son's side. The fact that Harrison would rather that his father remain dead and does not want anything to do with him is daunting to Dexter.
Dexter: Resurrection airs on Paramount+ with Showtime every Friday.
