The View Hosts Mock Herschel Walker: He's 'Acting Out' Shaggy's 'It Wasn't Me'

As the controversy surrounding Herschel Walker, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Georgia, continues to swirl, the former football player is doubling down on his denials — and the women of The View are having none of it.

On Wednesday, a woman who previously claimed Walker paid for her to have an abortion told the Daily Beast that she is the mother of one of his children, an allegation Walker denied in a confusing interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Thursday morning.

Just a few hours later, Walker's insistence that the woman's story is "untrue" made its way to The View, where the ladies had a big laugh at his expense. "What did he just say?" asked Whoopi Goldberg, after playing an audio clip of the interview. "Is he saying that it never happened, and that it's untrue, and then it was untrue again, except there is a baby?"

"He's acting out that Shaggy song," said Ana Navarro. "'Caught me red-handed, creeping with the girl next door — it wasn't me. Caught me on the sofa — it wasn't me.'"

Sunny Hostin noted that if Republicans and Evangelicals are "standing by him" because "God forgives all," Walker should just admit guilt and apologize. "If that's the case, why isn't he coming forward and saying, 'Yes, this is my — I did this, and I'm sorry. God has forgiven me?'" she said.

"That's my issue. There's room for redemption with anyone, but you have to admit fault, and he's still lying about the child, the abortion," agreed Alyssa Farah Griffin.

"But you can do that these days!" said Sara Haines. "There are literally people that think the election was stolen. You can tell them anything you want! 10 more kids could come out, and he'd be like, 'Nope. Nah.'"

Griffin then offered a "message to [her] party," saying, "I understand wanting to take back control of the Senate, but there are a number of lanes that don't have to go through Georgia. You do not have to put this man in the Senate for Republicans to take back the majority."

Rather than continue Griffin's politically-minded point, Whoopi returned to Hostin's remark about Evangelicals dismissing the claims about Walker. "Y'all said, 'God forgives all,' right?" she said. "So if that is true, why don't you give the same grace to women who find themselves in a position of having to have an abortion?"

"I think you missed the caveat," replied Navarro. "We are against abortion except in cases where it might decide who leads the Senate."

"Everybody is forgiven, except if you committed murder, which is what we call abortion, but you are forgiven if you are Herschel Walker and you're running for the Senate. You are forgiven if you are Donald Trump and you committed sexual harassment and sexual assault. Those things, we forgive."

    Get 'em, Ana!
