The View Devolves Into Chaos as Meghan McCain Unloads on Joy Behar: 'I Don't Care' What You Say!

It was a five-alarm screaming match Monday morning on The View.

It's been a while since we had a good, old fashioned screaming match on The View, but boy, did the ABC talk show deliver Tuesday morning. A discussion about Rep. Matt Gaetz quickly went off the rails when Meghan McCain and Joy Behar began screaming at each other from across the (virtual) table, with McCain insisting that she doesn't care about anything Behar has to say about the GOP. "You saying the Republican Party is trash -- I don't care! It's not revelatory!" yelled McCain, as Whoopi Goldberg attempted to calm things down (spoiler: it failed). "Every single day! Every single day, you hate Republicans. Oh my god! How revelatory!"

Typically, it's easy to tell when McCain is about to explode, but Tuesday's blow-up was anything but predictable. The mood was jovial as the co-hosts discussed the allegations of sex trafficking plaguing Gaetz (he's denied any wrongdoing), and McCain even sided with her colleagues when she insisted that "Matt Gaetz is a pervert that should go to jail." Added the conservative firebrand, "The Republican Party and people on Capitol Hill are embarrassed by this."

However, when Behar asked McCain what the Republican Party should be called now that they seem to be anti-truth — "Should I call it the Q Anon Party?" she asked — the attitude quickly shifted. "I think you can call it whatever you want because your influence in the Republican Party is almost zero. As I've said before on this show, it is for us to figure out amongst ourselves," said McCain. "What Republican is like, 'Ugh, Joy Behar doesn't like my party? Oh god, I'd better stop voting for them now.' It's like, I don't have any influence on the left. I don't think, at least."

"You know what, Meghan?" replied Behar, attempting to interject. "You often on this show give your opinion about what the Democrats should be doing to better themselves."

When McCain attempted to explain the outburst, saying that people she knows "personally" are "embarrassed" by the Gaetz situation," Behar asked why the GOP doesn't just "get rid of him" to solve the problem, a question that only seemed to rile up her co-host even more. The two began to spar back and forth about the differences between Gaetz and Liz Cheney, who was removed from her leadership role just last week, and before long, things devolved into a full-on screaming match. Poor Sunny Hostin just wanted to read her legal note, but alas, she couldn't manage to break into the conversation.

"Alright!" said Goldberg, clapping her hands to silence McCain. "We're going to break. We'll be right back." Leave it to Whoopi to put out a five-alarm fire with a single clap.
