Extra! Extra! Sadly, Paper Girls won't be continuing its route with Amazon.

Deadline reports that Prime Video has canceled the graphic novel adaptation after just one season. The sci-fi series, based on Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang's graphic novel, had received a positive critical response for its 8-episode first season following its July 29 release. Despite this, however, Paper Girls has not managed to break into Nielsen's weekly streaming ratings.

Paper Girls tells the story of four young girls (Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza) who inadvertently get caught up in the world of time-travelers while on their paper route the morning after Halloween in 1988. Legendary TV will reportedly shop the series around for a new home.

Paper Girls Season 1 is streaming on Prime Video.
