Lea Michele's career came full circle on Monday when it was announced that she will replace Beanie Feldstein as Fanny Brice in Broadway's Funny Girl, a role that served as the ultimate life goal of Michele's Glee character, Rachel Berry.

Following the announcement, Glee fans took to Twitter to post clips from the show, particularly scenes in which Michele's character performs songs from Funny Girl. Netflix's Jarrett Wieselman shared a clip of Michele singing "Don't Rain On My Parade" from the original Broadway musical, writing, "All jokes aside, Lea Michele was BORN to star in Funny Girl."

Other fans posted clips of Glee antagonist Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) leaving Rachel's performance of Funny Girl. Lynch, who currently stars alongside Feldstein as Fanny Brice's mother, will coincidentally be leaving the show just before her fellow Glee alum joins the cast.

Mostly, fans simply couldn't get over the irony of Michele living out the dreams of her on-screen character.

Glee followed a high school glee club as its members rehearse and perform for singing competitions, and later, as they graduate and begin college. It ran for six seasons on FOX from 2009-2015, and is available to stream on Disney+.
