Why was Apple's The Morning Show teaser so "messy"?

It's been five months since Apple announced its Apple TV+ service and showcased its big-name stars on stage in Cupertino, while offering very little actual footage. That continued Monday with Apple's release of The Morning Show's "official teaser trailer," which contained no footage from the show. "What is this?" asks Catie Keck. "Whomst is Reese Witherspoon 'pushing' in this bizarre mashup of stray lines matched to a poignant piano piece? Who hurt Steve Carell and why is he 'fighting back'? What does any of this have to do with reporting the news? Who the f*ck knows! Again, not a single soul actually appears in the trailer, so pinpointing what this show will actually be about is as frustratingly difficult now as it was many months ago...The only thing we really know for certain is about this as-yet embarrassingly dramatized vision of journalism is that it’s debuting in the fall."
