Why can't San Francisco queens get a break on RuPaul’s Drag Race?

San Francisco is considered a drag mecca, yet only one person from the city has ever been cast on RuPaul's Drag Race, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I’ve heard Ru just doesn’t like San Francisco," one drag performer, Mama Celeste, says of RuPaul Charles. “I’m no longer surprised when we don’t see San Francisco represented on the show,” says another local, Sister Roma. “Not surprised, but still disappointed.” RuPaul and her Drag Race production team declined to answer questions about its apparent snubbing of San Francisco.
