Vince McMahon sells $100 million in WWE shares to possibly bring back the XFL

  • McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment stated in its SEC filing that the $100 million is "primarily to fund a separate entity from the Company, Alpha Entertainment LLC, which Mr. McMahon established to explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football." As ESPN notes, Alpha filed for five trademarks to the XFL on Dec. 16 with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. The company also sought to trademark "URFL."
