Ugly Betty franchise to feature its first Black lead for its South African edition

uBettina Wethu (Our Betty) will feature the first Betty who is Black when it premieres in April 2021. uBettina Wethu "is the story of a naïve rural girl who gets a job working for one of Johannesburg’s most eligible bachelors," per Variety. "Despite the challenges, she succeeds at winning his heart and excelling in business beyond her wildest dreams."
