Tom Hanks and Scott Grimes pay tribute to Donald Malarkey, one of the original Band of Brothers

World War II and Easy Company veteran Donald Malarkey, whom Grimes portrayed in the 2001 HBO WWII miniseries, died Saturday at age 96. Grimes tweeted, “Rest In Peace kind man. Thanks for letting me pretend to be a beautiful father and hero. Love you Don.” Meanwhile, Hanks wrote: “Farewell Don Malarkey of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Screaming Eagles. Thank you. Hanx.”
