Thomas Haden Church to star as The Texanist on Fox

The Texas-raised actor, who owns a ranch in the Lone Star State, will play the title role in the comedy based on David Courtney's popular advice column in the Texas Monthly that's become a staple of the monthly magazine since 2007. Church plays Dave, "an opinionated Austin-area radio show host who gives advice to Texas natives and newcomers alike on what he knows to be the true Texas Way of life. But the Texas Way is changing, and Dave's job is becoming more complicated. With input from his wife, family and co-workers, he must now become the arbiter of which changes to embrace and which to reject, possibly opening his mind in the process — just not that much."
