The Good Place's Michael Schur signs long-term deal with NBC's Universal Television

Schur has a long relationship with NBC going back to his days as an SNL writer. He also served as writer-producer on The Office and co-created NBC's Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The new deal will keep Schur from moving to a rival studio. He's also producing the upcoming comedy NBC comedy Abby's. Schur said in a statement that Universal Television “provided me with all the support and freedom and guidance a writer and showrunner could ever ask for.”
