The Good Place creator can't say if Blake Bortles will make a cameo now that he's playing nearby

  • Former Jacksonville Jaguars QB Bortles spent the offseason moving to his new team, the Los Angeles Rams, which practices 36 miles from where the NBC comedy films at Universal Studios. “Don’t think we didn’t think about that,” Schur tells EW with a laugh. “But the problem is, once Bortles is off the Jaguars — and the way that Jason and all sports fans work — it’s just like, ‘You’re dead to me.’ Jason is just such a tribalist and such a Jacksonville loyalist that he is always going to be a Jaguars fan, no matter what.” Schur adds, however, that Jason is like an 11-year-old kid.  “If an 11-year-old kid loved Blake Bortles as much as Jason loves Blake Bortles, that 11-year-old kid might just become a Rams fan and root for Blake Bortles,” says Schur, “because that’s where Blake Bortles plays now.” Schur also revealed he has no idea if Bortles even watches the show. "I would assume someone at some point has told him that there’s a network TV show that has mentioned his name 500 times," he says.
