Syfy renews Van Helsing for a fifth and final season

Three days before its Season 4 finale, Syfy has announced that the Canadian dark fantasy horror drama will end next year with a 13-episode Season 5. "We are thrilled to be able to bring the amazing Van Helsing saga to a close,” said Chad Oakes, who exec produces the series as co-chairman of producers Nomadic Pictures. "This could not have been done without the support of our incredible cast, crew, Syfy, Netflix (which pays to stream the series) and Super Ecran." Van Helsing ending means that Syfy's scripted programming slate will be down to fellow Canadian import Wynonna Earp and The Magicians.
