The abbreviated sixth and final season of the CBS drama will take place two years after the events of the Season 5 finale with Téa Leoni's Elizabeth McCord in a new role: president of the United States, as the Salt Lake Tribune recently revealed. As such, Ramirez's brilliant political strategist character, Kat Sandoval, won't be part of the final season. "I know there’s a lot going on in the world. So much," Ramirez tweeted this morning, hinting at her departure. "And for just a quick moment I want to wish everyone at @MadamSecretary a fantastic final Season 6 @CBS ! It was an honor to bring Kat Sandoval into your universe!" There's still a possibility that Ramirez, who joined Madam Secretary in Season 4, might return in a guest role.
