RuPaul's Drag Race disqualifies Sherry Pie over catfishing controversy

Following Sherry Pie's apology last night after being accused of catfishing five actors by pretending to be a casting director, the VH1 reality show has disqualified the drag queen, who's birth name is Joey Gugliemelli, from the competition. “In light of recent developments and Sherry Pie’s statement, Sherry Pie has been disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race," VH1 and Drag Race production company World of Wonder said in a statement. "Out of respect for the hard work of the other queens, VH1 will air the season as planned. Sherry will not appear in the grand finale scheduled to be filmed later this spring.” ALSO: Two more men have come forward with catfishing allegations.
