Roswell, New Mexico specifically wanted Shiri Appleby to direct tonight's episode

Appleby, who starred on the original Roswell, points out that The WB series had only one out of 61 episodes directed by a female. Appleby first threw her hat in the ring to direct an episode last summer, and showrunner Carina Adly Mackenzie specifically has tonight's episode in mind. "Oh yeah, there's something specific that happens in the story of this episode that she wanted me to direct," says Appleby, without revealing details.
