Report: Russia plans to make its own version of Chernobyl that makes American spies the villain

The Russian government has launched a "mini-crusade" against the HBO limited series, according to The Moscow Times. “The fact that an American, not a Russian, TV channel tells us about our own heroes is a source of shame that the pro-Kremlin media apparently cannot live down,” reports The Moscow Times’ Ilya Shepelin. “And this is the real reason they find fault with HBO’s Chernobyl series.” Shepelin reports Russia is already working on its own take on the Chernobyl incident that would cite a fringe conspiracy that Americans were to blame.
