Report: R. Kelly's arrest on federal sex crime charges came about after a Homeland Security agent watched Surviving R. Kelly

A source at Homeland Security Investigations, the federal agency’s investigative arm, tells Page Six that the Lifetime docuseries led to an investigation that started in January that resulted in last night's arrest of R. Kelly on federal sex crime charges. “It was an agent on our trafficking unit who was watching that Lifetime show, Surviving R. Kelly," the source said. The source added: “They were looking at the victims’ interviews” and realized that “this is so much bigger than (what) he has previously been charged with." ALSO: Surviving R.
