Joseph James DeAngelo pleaded guilty Monday to 26 charges of murder and kidnapping as part of a rape and killing spree as part of a plea deal that spared him the death penalty in the Golden State Killer case. His guilty plea comes one day after HBO premiered the docuseries based on Oswalt's late wife Michelle McNamara's book on the Golden State Killer. "The most important people at the #GoldenStateKiller hearing today are the survivors. All present, all staring directly at that zilch of a human being, and he can’t return their gaze. That’s what I’m focusing on," tweeted Oswalt. I'll Be Gone in the Dark director and executive producer Liz Garbus added: "Guilty plea to all charges counts. Guilty of 13 counts of murder. Uncharged acts to be admitted to. This is huge for survivors."
