Netflix and Anderson jointly announced the documentary this afternoon, as Anderson has been making headlines amid the release of Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy, which wraps up next week. "Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary," Netflix tweeted. "The film, which has been in the making for several years, will feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey." Anderson posted an image of a note to Instagram, saying: “My life: A thousand imperfections, a million misperceptions,” she writes. “Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to — I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story.” While Anderson hasn't commented on Pam & Tommy, she reportedly finds it "very painful" and has rebuffed the show's requests for her participation in the limited series focusing on her and Tommy Lee's 1990s sex tape scandal.
