PBS eyeing major donors to boost funding

With rising costs and the government paying only 15% of her budget, PBS CEO Paula Kerger says she may turn to private philanthropy to help raise money. “What if we could get people to think a little bit larger than that tote bag?” she says, adding: “What if we start talking to people who have been making larger contributions to arts organizations or universities or hospitals, and have them at least think about PBS as part of their considerations?”
