Oprah Winfrey recalls Toni Morrison's first appearance on her talk show

Oprah reminisced about the acclaimed Nobel Prize-winning author, who died Monday night at age 88, last night at the premiere of OWN's David Makes Man. "The very first time I had her on the Oprah show, she said to me, ‘I’ve always known I was gallant.’ I was like, ‘Who the hell knows they’re gallant?'” Oprah said of her good friend Morrison. “Her sense of confidence and self-assurance and nobility is what impressed me the most.”
