Norm Macdonald gets into more trouble with Down Syndrome comment in reaction to the #MeToo backlash

“You’d have to have Down syndrome” not to feel sorry for the victims of sexual abuse, Macdonald said in his interview this morning with Howard Stern. While discussing that "of course" he understands the trauma of sexual abuse victims after defending Louis CK, Macdonald joked that Down Syndrome is "my new word." (MacDonald may have been alluding to finding a word to replace “retarded,” which he has used as an insult in the past.) “You’d have to have Down syndrome to not feel sorry for — of course, #MeToo is what you want for your daughters," he told Stern. Macdonald's latest comments were met with Twitter backlash, but Netflix has yet to respond.
