New owners of CBS Television City defend letting the LAPD use parking lot as a staging ground for George Floyd protests

Some criticized CBS for allowing the LAPD to use the iconic studio on Saturday, but CBS sold Television City to Hackman Capital Partners in December 2018. The area around Television City was where George Floyd protesters clashed with police, which resulted in several destroyed police cars. Hackman Capital Partners defended allowing the LAPD to use its parking lot, saying: "Television City Studios has a long history of making its facility available to the community in both good and difficult times."
