NBC News changes its mind after issuing an order not to call Rep. Steve King's white supremacy comments "racist"

“Be careful to avoid characterizing (King’s) remarks as racist,” read an earlier email to NBC News staff, obtained by The Huffington Post. “It is ok to attribute to others as in ‘what many are calling racist’ or something like that.” Shortly after The Huffington Post published excerpts from the email, NBC News changed its mind, and said it's okay to describe King's comments, originally made to The New York Times, as "racist."
