Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski apologizes after criticizing Mark Halperin’s accusers for not meeting with him face-to-face

  • “Mark Halperin is more than willing to meet with his accusers and apologize with them face-to-face,” she said on Friday’s show. “I’ve actually tried to offer him to them. They don’t want to talk to him.” In response, 10 of Halperin’s accusers released a statement saying, “we would ask for Ms. Brzezinski for higher standards of editorial judgment, compassion and human decency,” adding that “it is an unethical and harmful request to ask that sexual assault victims confront their accusers in person and, in particular, on live tv.” Brzezinski later apologized, saying: “I realize that it is not my place. It isn’t my call to make, and for that I am truly sorry."
