MacGruber fan Christopher Nolan sent an inspiring email to the Peacock series' cast and crew

The Inception and The Dark Knight director, who has previously expressed his love for Will Forte's 2010 film and the SNL character it was based on, was invited to a read-through of the pilot for Peacock's MacGruber series. Nolan couldn't make it, but he did send the following email, which Vanity Fair excerpted in its oral history of MacGruber: “Though I can’t be there in person to watch you take the first step of your odyssey—know that my spirit soars with you, and whilst it’s perhaps unfair to add to the great sense of responsibility you must already feel, I am duty bound to tell you—the world is waiting, the world is watching.”
