Kumail Nanjiani to star in Immigrant, a Hulu limited series on the founder of Chippendales

Nanjiani is teaming with Pam & Tommy creator Robert Siegel on Immigrant, an eight-episode series telling the true story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian-American entrepreneur who started the stripper troupe Chippendales who ended up dying in prison after he was caught up in a plot to kill a number of Chippendales producers, dancers and choreographers. Nanjiani will play Banerjee. Immigrant is described as an "insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon."
