Kevin Spacey accused of being racist, using racial slurs on the House of Cards set

  • Earl Blue, the head of VIP Protective Services, tells The Daily Mail his company was hired to work security on Season 1 of the Netflix series, where he alleges that Spacey refused to shake hands and acknowledge the predominantly black security guards. Blue says he was told from one of his employees that Spacey even used racial slurs. “He obviously had some uneasiness about me being near (his) trailer,” Blue says. “I would smile at him and even speak, say ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon.’ But he would never reply. I have experienced this before. I have been black my whole life and I can tell when a person is not looking at me as a person but they are looking at me as a color." After Season 1, Blue says HBO told him they were pleased with the work, but opted not to renew his company’s contract. Netflix referred all comment on Blue’s allegations to producer Media Rights Capital, which declined comment.
