Kal Penn has hope that Sunnyside will find a new home, pointing to Harold & Kumar's initial struggles

Penn thinks the groundbreaking immigration-themed Sunnyside could follow a similar path as Harold & Kumar Goes to White Castle, which he says "tanked at the box office when it first came out because it wasn’t marketed properly" but found an audience on DVD and on HBO. "The writers and I have more stories we want to tell,” adds Matt Murray, who co-created Sunnyside with Penn. “Should there be a season two down the line we kind of know roughly where it’s headed. We are about to shoot our final episode so we are just going to try to make the best episode we can and then see what happens.”
