Jerrod Carmichael on the multicamera sitcom format: It's "f*cking gross. It’s really f*cking terrible. Like really bad"

The former star of The Carmichael Show is producing Lil Rel Howery's multi-camera comedy Rel for Fox, but he intends to change the perception of the format by trying not to "f*cking suck." “The ones that don’t respect you as an adult or a person, you know, with eyes and ears and a sense of humor,” he said at the TV press tour. “We pretend it’s good and it’s fun, but it’s really cheesy and bad and they juice the laughs.”
