Insecure's Alexander Hodge is one of three new additions to Painkiller

Hodge will play Philky, a “ruggedly handsome with long raven hair, ink art on his body, and one born from a strong Chinese lineage," on the Black Lightning spinoff series pilot. He'll be joined by Siren and Lost in Space vet Sibongile Mlambo as Maya, who a natural leader described as a “strikingly attractive woman yet is icy and mysterious," and The Night Shift alum James Roch as Cousin Donald, a “larger-than-life, gentle giant who wears a distinct uniform – head-to-toe leather with matching boots – a juxtaposition of his military past.
